Modern Slavery Statement
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
Introduction
Preformed Windings Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms within our business and supply chains. This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our modern slavery and human trafficking statement.
Our Business
Preformed Windings is a leading manufacturer of high-voltage coils and bars, operating from two state-of-the-art facilities in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom. We serve customers across the global energy infrastructure sector, supplying precision-engineered coils for generators and motors in hydro, nuclear, oil & gas, industrial, and transportation applications.
Our Policies
We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.
- We maintain clear policies against all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Our recruitment and employment practices are designed to ensure that all employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and are treated fairly.
- We pay all employees above the National Living Wage and ensure working hours comply with the Working Time Regulations.
- We conduct appropriate due diligence on new suppliers and regularly review existing supply relationships.
- We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and expect the same high standards from all contractors, suppliers, and business partners.
Supply Chains
Our supply chains include the procurement of copper, insulation materials, specialised tooling, packaging, and logistics services. We source materials only from established, reputable suppliers who share our values and commitment to ethical business practices. We require our suppliers to confirm that:
- They do not use any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour.
- Their employees have the right to leave employment freely after reasonable notice.
- They provide each employee with a written contract of employment in a language understood by the employee.
- They do not require employees to lodge deposits or identity papers with the employer.
- They cascade these requirements to their own suppliers.
Due Diligence
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, we have implemented the following due diligence procedures:
- Mapping our supply chains to assess particular product or geographical risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier before entering into a contractual relationship.
- Conducting regular reviews of our existing supply chain to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Building long-standing relationships with suppliers and making clear our expectations of business behaviour.
- Maintaining internal reporting procedures for employees to raise concerns about modern slavery.
Training
We ensure that all employees involved in recruitment and procurement are aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Key staff receive training on identifying the signs of modern slavery and the appropriate steps to take if they suspect that modern slavery is occurring.
Reporting Concerns
We encourage all employees, customers, and suppliers to report any concerns related to the direct activities or supply chains of Preformed Windings. Reports can be made confidentially via our internal reporting procedures or by contacting us at info@preformedwindings.com .
